South Wilts IV (A) - 29 July 2006
Won by 7 Wickets

Idlers 105-3 beat South Wilts IV 104 by seven wickets

In an unnecessarily bad tempered match, the Idlers coasted to an easy win to continue their pursuit of promotion and lengthen their good run.

South Wilts made a promising start after having been put into bat on a dour, overcast day until the opening partnership was broken by a run out when the score was 36. A flurry of three quick wickets for Rawle Beckles left the home side teetering on the precipice of a low total. However, resolute batting from captain and opener T.Pittman and youthful support enabled South Wilts to push the total above the one hundred run mark. Pittman (43) top-scored for South Wilts before misjudging a delivery from left-armer Alec Bartlett. Bartlett (5-4-8-3) conceded 8 runs from his first over then didn't leak another run whilst picking up three wickets in a miserly spell.

The Idlers quickly reached the target score with the loss of three batsmen, the pick of whom was Alex Richards who scored a fine 46 before a devilish leg stump yorker from J.Elford thwarted his chances of a second consecutive fifty for the club.
